It was great to attend the excellent rugby presentation evening at the Towers Hotel on Sunday and also meet with the football panel on Saturday to plan for their international matches against Boys and Girls Clubs of Scotland. This year the boys teams are home whilst the girls play away in Scotland.

The Project Team has been working hard across our network, supporting volunteers and new clubs as well visiting provisions in North Wales. They have also been engaging with clubs and young people as part of the Raise Your Voice Project through our discussions over Pizza & Politics.

It has been a really busy time at BGC Wales with many activities and projects taking place. The Project team have been busy supporting young volunteers whilst they have been visiting clubs delivering activities for Safer Internet Day, International Women's Day, Science Week and running Pizza and Politics sessions as part of the Raise Your Voice project. As an Organisation we are delighted that the new Taith programme has been launched to offer young people the opportunity to undertake international opportunities.

Members of the BGC Wales Project team have been busy delivering sessions all about staying safe online over the last few weeks. It was great to be out in the community learning all about what issues are impacting young people online as part of the safer internet day 2022 initiative. Project staff delivered informal sessions discussing topics such as online relationships, gaming and wellbeing.

National Director Joff Carroll retires at the end of the month having worked for 23 years for the organisation. He will be greatly missed by all at BGC Wales. Secondly, last week we received the amazing news that we won a Youth Work Excellence Award with our partners Swansea MAD and Deryn. Lastly, there is a great opportunity for clubs to receive funding via StreetGames for activity in 2022.
