This month we showcase the breadth and impact of youth work across our network - bringing young people together through sport, environmental action and meaningful engagement in their communities. From international cultural exchanges and national competition opportunities, to innovative training and democratic participation, we continue to create spaces where young people can build confidence, develop skills and have their voices heard. Partnerships, collaboration and shared learning remain at the heart of our work, strengthening connections both locally and globally. Together, these experiences are helping young people feel empowered, inspired and ready to shape their futures. Let’s jump in!

As we begin a new financial year, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our funders, as well as those who have supported us through individual donations and sponsorship of our sports programmes, over the past 12 months and beyond. Your support plays a vital role in enabling our work with young people across Wales.

As spring approaches, clubs across the BGC Wales network are buzzing with activity, creativity, and community spirit. From refreshed youth spaces and meaningful international learning to upcoming opportunities for young people to get involved, there’s a strong sense of momentum and collaboration. We’re also gearing up for exciting new initiatives, including the relaunch of our Youth Forum and events that encourage young people to make their voices heard. Alongside these positive developments, we also take a moment to honour and remember a valued club leader who made a lasting impact. Where did January go? With Welsh Charities Week just around the corner it’s the perfect time to share the incredible things happening across the BGC Wales network. From teams being announced to inspiring interviews, plus some brilliant opportunities coming up for young people, we’re excited to continue to share successes and provide spaces for young people to thrive!

This festive season, Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Wales are proud to share the stories that celebrate some of the inspiring moments, achievements and partnerships that have shaped our year. This month we’re celebrating connection, growth, and opportunity. Across Wales, young people continue to inspire us with their energy and ambition, while clubs thrive through collaboration and creativity. From record-breaking engagement to exciting partnerships and festive plans, it’s a season of progress and possibility. Together, we’re building stronger communities, creating spaces for voices to be heard, and shaping brighter futures - always with young people at the heart of what we do.

This month we’re celebrating progress, pride and possibility. From inspiring moments at our AGM to international adventures in Spain, it’s been a month of connection and confidence. Clubs across Wales continue to grow - with new funding, facility upgrades and exciting plans for the future. We’re proud to launch a new quality assurance project to support voluntary youth clubs, and we’re inviting runners to make their miles matter in 2026. As always, young people are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re excited to keep building brighter futures, together.

This month we’re celebrating connection, achievement, and global impact. From marshmallow toasting at The Lodge and our first ever Cardiff Half Marathon runners, to inspiring moments at the NABGC Centenary Conference, it’s been a busy and brilliant September. We’re proud to spotlight club successes and thrilled to announce an award nomination. As always, our work is driven by young people, and we’re excited to keep building opportunities, confidence, and community across Wales and beyond.

As our summer of abundance comes to an end, we are looking back with gratitude for all that the BGC Wales network has achieved. Looking forward, we are pleased to share lots of opportunity for new growth this autumn.

It’s been a lively month across BGC Wales, with summer activities in full swing! From football finals to forest schools, our young people have been shining - supported every step of the way by amazing staff, volunteers, and clubs. It is with great sadness that we announce the news of two significant losses to our BGC community. Our Lodge Centre Manager, Dale Davies, tragically passed away while on a climbing holiday in the French Alps. This news has rocked the organisation and our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Dale’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. We are also heartbroken to hear that Neil Ellis has passed away. Neil was the inspirational leader of Bettws Boys’ and Girls’ Club and the visionary who led the creation of the Lodge to benefit young people in the community.

They say that Spring is the season of growth and development, and what a month we’ve had here this May. We’re incredibly proud of everything our young people have taken part in and achieved! As Spring turns to Summer, the season of action, we have lots of opportunities for available for both leaders and young people!
